Peter Bone rubbishes Brussels attempts to charge UK for Brexit

Peter Bone rubbished the claims that the UK will have to pay tens of billions of pounds to leave the UK

Mr Bone said: “Yes, we’re coming out of the EU – whether that’s a divorce, I don’t think we were quite married to the EU.

“But to pay them any money is ridiculous, I want to know how much money they are going to pay us, because we’ve subsidised the European Union and its predecessor to the tune of more than £200bn – that’s the net contribution we’ve paid.

“We’re a direct subsidy to them, the idea we would have to pay them anything is bizarre and I can’t see any act or treaty where it is a requirement.”

The EU is determined to bill the UK as much as possible, despite us being a net contributor to their failing project.

Boris Johnson famously told the EU to ‘Go Whistle’ over the £92 billion bill figure.
